What the gothic font generator swaps your letters for
The generator maps each letter to a Fraktur code point in the Unicode Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols block, with C, H, I, R and Z pulled from Letterlike Symbols because the Fraktur block skips them. A bold Fraktur run sits in its own contiguous range and is mapped separately. The output is text, but its appearance after pasting depends on the destinationโs fonts and text handling.
Where this gothic font generator falls short
- C, H, I, R and Z map to a different block. Depending on your system's fallback fonts, they may carry a slightly different stroke weight, which shows most in an all-capitals word.
- Blackletter is hard to read at small sizes even when it renders correctly. A long sentence in Fraktur is a wall.
- If you want a .ttf file for a design tool, this page is the wrong page and a font site is the right one.
Blackletter carries weight best when the words do too.

Questions about the gothic font generator
Is this gothic font generator free, and do I need to install a font?
It is free, and there is nothing to install. The output contains Unicode characters rather than a downloadable font. Test the pasted text in its destination to check font support and field restrictions.
How is this different from downloading a gothic font?
A font file controls how ordinary characters look in software that uses that font. This tool instead copies different Unicode characters with blackletter forms. Their appearance still depends on available fonts. For detailed print layout or a design file, use a typeface in your design software.
Why do a few capitals look out of place?
C, H, I, R and Z are missing from the Fraktur block and are mapped to Letterlike Symbols instead. Because they span two blocks, your system may use different fallback fonts to display them, causing a mismatch in stroke weight.
Does gothic text work in a Discord username?
Discord global usernames accept lowercase aโz, digits, periods and underscores, so Fraktur characters do not qualify. Display names and server nicknames have different rules. Test the exact field and follow any validation message or server naming policy.
Can I use gothic text in a document or a printed design?
You can paste it anywhere text goes, but for print you almost certainly want a real font file instead. What this produces are individual Unicode characters that happen to look Fraktur, which means you get no control over spacing, weight or size relationships, and no guarantee about how a print workflow will substitute anything it cannot render. For a screen name or a message it is ideal, precisely because you cannot install a font in either of those places.
Why do some apps show my gothic text as plain letters?
An app may normalize these characters to ordinary letters, or use a font whose appearance differs from this preview. Copy the result back to check whether the characters changed. Search matching and display behavior depend on the destination; test both if they matter.
Is gothic text readable to a screen reader?
Not well. A screen reader announces these as mathematical characters or skips them, so a name written entirely in Fraktur can come out as silence or as a string of descriptions. For a decorative flourish that is a fair trade. For anything carrying real information, such as a heading or a bio line someone needs to understand, use plain text and keep the styling for the parts that are ornamental.
Will gothic text work in a Discord server name or a channel name?
Each field can apply different validation and formatting rules. Try the text in the specific server name, channel name, nickname or message field and check the saved result. This generator cannot guarantee that Discord will accept or preserve the characters.
