How the PAN photo resizer works
First identify the application route and read its upload instructions. This page starts at 276×197 pixels and 20–50 KB. The pixel dimensions come from a 3.5×2.5 cm rectangle at 200 DPI; the KB range is a separate setting. Neither establishes a current online PAN requirement. Enter the dimensions and byte range your form specifies, position the crop, then inspect the JPEG result. The size search may add a comment block to meet the chosen minimum; the result reports padding and any missed upper limit.
Where this PAN photo tool falls short
- Paper photograph dimensions do not by themselves establish online file requirements. Confirm both pixels and bytes with the application route you are using.
- The output is JPEG, and transparent input areas are filled white. Decoding depends on the browser; selecting a DPI does not write that value into the file metadata.
- This tool does not check facial coverage, background colour or other application rules. Its range indicator only compares the output with the numbers you entered.

Do I need a new photo file for every PAN application route?
Check the instructions for the route you are using. Use this resizer when the application actually asks you to upload a separate image; it does not obtain or update photos held by another service.
Why did the result add padding bytes?
The encoded crop was smaller than the minimum you selected. A JPEG comment block increased the byte count without adding image detail. Check the reported total; padding does not guarantee that a portal will accept the file.
Is my photograph uploaded to your servers?
No. The cropping, quality testing, and padding steps happen entirely inside your web browser. No image data is transmitted to or stored on any external server.
