Mechanism

How this crops and resizes a signature

Start with the width and height requested by your upload form. The crop box follows their ratio so you can keep the full signature inside the frame without stretching it. This page starts at 140×60 pixels and 10–20 KB. Other preset buttons select a photo or a different signature shape; Custom accepts your own values. After cropping, the tool searches JPEG quality against the upper limit and adds a JPEG comment block if the result is below the chosen minimum. Review the output size and padding count before downloading.

Limits

Where this signature resizer falls short

  • Output is always a JPEG with any transparency filled with white. Source files are capped at 40MB and must be in browser-decodable formats.
  • The output keeps your chosen pixel dimensions. If those dimensions cannot fit the byte ceiling, an exceeds-range result can still be downloaded; it is not a successful match.
  • The presets are editable starting points. They do not establish the current requirements of an exam or application portal, and the tool does not inspect handwriting quality.

Questions about resizing a signature

Why is the crop box locked to a specific shape?

The crop box locks to the aspect ratio of your target pixel size. This ensures the final output exactly matches the required dimensions without stretching or distorting your signature.

Can I use this for both my photo and signature?

Yes. The preset buttons let you switch between common dimensions, such as the IBPS photo (200×230px, 20–50KB) and GATE signature (400×120px, 10–100KB) presets.

What does the padding byte count mean?

It reports non-image bytes added in a JPEG comment block to reach the selected minimum. These bytes add no detail to the signature. An upload service may apply additional checks.

How much space should I leave around the handwriting?

Keep every stroke inside the crop and use the margins specified by your form. Inspect the downloaded JPEG at its actual size; enlarging the preview can conceal how small the final handwriting is.
